TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in The Firefly Services building, on Thursday, Oct. 23, for their regular weigh-in and meeting.

Our Co Leader, Linda called the meeting to order. Our Leader, Warren, is ill today and unable to attend.

Carol led us in singing “TO TOPS We Will Go.”

We said our TOPS & KOPS pledges

Linda led us in roll call, 13 members weighed in. We had a .6 gain and a 6.8 loss. Giving us a net loss of 6.2 pounds.

The best loser for the week was Erin with a 2.6-pound loss. Congratulations Erin!

Other great losses were: Pam, 1.2, Pat 2 and Linda C 1lb.

Pat had the program today; she gave each member a card and asked them to write their name vertical on the card. She then asked us to write down a word starting with each letter of our name of something that means something to you, describes you or is a motivation to you. Pat then talked on KINDNESS, we all have bad days, insecurities and negative internal monologues. But kindness? It cuts through the noise. She asked, “Have you ever found yourself deep into a pity party?” Sometimes the hardest person to be kind to is ourselves. We beat ourselves up for not being enough, or doing enough. Being gentle with yourself is often where kindness starts. Some small acts of kindness, Smile- at strangers, at co-workers, even at your dog.

Forgive yourself: for the coffee you spilled, the text you forgot to answer, you’re doing your best.

We all have hard days: but kindness is the invitation back to connection-both with ourselves and others, it costs little, yet has the power to shift moods.

Thank You Pat for a great program

Contest: The two words for this week are: Family, Vegetables. We have one member that already has four words.

Marble game: There is $9 in the pot. Marie won the chance to draw but did not get the winning one.

Linda H. read portions of Randy’s TOPS e-mail. The newest TOPS Event will be the TOPS Winter Event which will be held in Springfield on Dec. 6.

There will be a centerpiece contest and raffle baskets. Also, an educational session and an update on completing the resume.

Cost to attend is $15.

Remember, in November on Thanksgiving week we will meet on Tuesday the 25th instead of Thursday.

We then sang Happy Birthday to Erin who will celebrate her birthday on Saturday.

Erin brought us some birthday cupcakes (sugar Free of course) to share. Have a Happy Birthday Erin and thank you for the cupcakes

With no other business we closed with our motto “IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME”
