The Twentieth Century Club met on Oct. 8 with Ruth Woody who served as hostess and Jean Wernel as co-hostess.

President Jean Wernel called the meeting to order with 11 members in attendance.

The opinion given by Sharyl Henry was entitled Old Age Is Not For Sissies. A person needs to be ready for old age and the changes that happen from then to now. It is something that can not be avoided and people must accept the fact that they may have to slow down and experience more aches and pains.

For the entertainment Kay Sewell presented a statement that was called Please Mister, Take Off Your Hat. That respect given to our flag and country is one way to honor and remember the peace and freedom we all have.

Our program, provided by Glenda Ware, was a summary on the book entitled Educated: A Memoir by Tara Westover. It is a story of a girl, the youngest of seven children, born to a Mormon family. She was kept out of school and had a very strict life. She leaves home to pursue an education by teaching herself which enabled her to earn a PhD in History from Cambridge University.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned to enjoy delicious refreshments.
