Twilight Gardeners Garden Club program: interesting creative flower arrangements

Twilight Gardeners Garden Club me on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the home of Rhonda Friar. The meeting was called to order by Ursula Fuller. The Club Collect was recited. Then members and two guests were present and each was asked “Summer challenges in your garden.”

Minutes of the May meeting and June Garden Tour minutes were read and approved. The treasurer’s report was given.

Correspondence is sent to members via email.

Report of Committees: Conservation no report.

Unfinished Business: Members discussed whether to continue the Citation of Recognition Award for landscaping improvement of a business. Rhonda brought up possible consideration of doing a homeowner yard of the month to be recognized. Carol moved to table the award until next spring, Rama seconded the motion. All agreed. A committee of volunteers was formed with continued discussion next spring.

New Business: Ursula gave information of our club’s responsibility for the convention next April 2025 in Springfield. We are to provide three door prizes worth $10 each and do table favors for the Wednesday luncheon. Be thinking about what we might do for favors for possible 100-125 settings.

Ursula mentions a possible fall tour as we had not had one this year. No decision was made. Carolyn had a petition asking us to sign to help protect bees from a harmful pesticide. Thank you.

Ursula indicated that Sharon had indicated in previous meetings that she did not want to continue being treasurer. Marilyn had been both secretary and treasurer. After some discussion, Pam agreed to be secretary and Marilyn indicated she would be treasurer. Jennifer moved; we accept the change and Shelly seconded the motion. All agreed. Ursula indicated she and Rama would not be at the September meeting.

Program: Rhonda put together several different flower arrangements in different kinds of containers, using different flowers and things you might pick up from your yard or scavenger from friend’s yards. She showed some very interesting creative ideas. Thank you Rhonda for a very good program.
