El Dorado Springs — Research consistently shows that fathers who are actively involved in their children’s lives have a significant, positive impact on how well those children perform in school and in life. Dads who have support from other dads are even more effective.
Two programs this summer offer local fathers the chance to grow in their role, connect with others, and gain practical tools for success:
This course will meet Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. and includes dinner, real-life scenarios, and hands-on tools to help fathers become the kind of dads their children need. Whether you’re navigating early parenthood or parenting teens, this course offers valuable support and guidance.

Fundamentals of Fatherhood
Beginning in early June and continuing through mid-August, this class will meet on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Church of God (Holiness). The course is open to all dads and will follow the Good Dads curriculum, supplemented with prayer and devotional time.
On select evenings, the group will meet at a local fishing pond for outdoor sessions led by conservation agent Mike Allen. Children are welcome to attend these special outing nights.
More information and updates can be found on the ElDo Good Dads Facebook page.
Both programs aim to equip fathers with real tools, community encouragement, and a renewed sense of purpose—making a difference one family at a time.
