On April 21, 2019 a burglary and theft of tools and other items was reported stolen from a shop building near Virgil City.

Follow up investigation by Sgt. Clay Jeffries led to a possible suspect and location of the stolen items.  On April 22, 2019 Sgt. Jeffries, Sheriff McCrary and Vernon County Deputies served a search warrant and recovered most of the stolen items from a residence in Vernon County.  Sgt. Jeffries recovered the remaining items from a residence in El Dorado Springs.

Zachary Guenther, 31, of Milo, was arrested and charged with 2nd degree burglary and stealing.  He is being held in the Cedar County Jail on $25,000 bond.

Sheriff McCrary says a quick response by Sgt. Jeffries with assistance from the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the recovery of the items and fast resolution to this incident.
