Warren and Linda celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary on Valentine’s Day

TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in The Firefly Services building 700 E. Hospital Rd, on Thursday, Feb. 12, for their regular weigh-in and meeting.

Our Leader, Warren called the meeting to order.

Carol led us in singing “I Love My TOPS Club”.

Warren led us in roll call, 15 members weighed in.  We had a 9.6 Gain and a 7.6-pound loss, giving us a 2-pound net gain.

Best loser for the week was Pat with a 4.4-pound loss.  Congratulations Pat!

Erin had the program today; she spoke on how and what foods she eats to lose weight.  She mainly eats vegetables and meats, fruits and protein. A typical dinner is green beans, a hamburger portion of gravy, rice and a salad. She eats fruit every day, several times a day. Her favorite is banana and pineapple; she has not had any sugar in her diet since she started with TOPS. She sweetens food with stevia and drinks 0 calorie flavored water. Her typical breakfast is eggs and pancakes made with protein powder. As a family they do not eat out often and do not eat processed foods. She walks a lot, five miles most days. Thank you, Erin, for your program, if only we can follow your example!

Contest: Pat will ask for contest totals next week, we are about halfway through so it will be nice to know who’s in the lead.

Marble game: There is $7 in the pot. Margie won the right to draw but did not get the winning one.

Warren read a note from Randy telling us we will have a new TOPS Advocate, Kyleen Wilson. She will be moving to central Missouri soon.

Linda H has photos of promotional items members can buy for SRD. If anyone wants to order something you must let Linda know and pay for the item before March 5. Registration is $40 for members to attend. You must pay your money to the treasurer on or before Feb. 26, if you plan to go. If you attend, the $40 will be refunded back to you by the chapter.

The chapter’s Recognition Day will be March 26, as it was determined most members will be able to attend this.

Warren and Linda will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Feb. 14. The chapter presented them with a card, and a beautiful gift, and sang Happy Anniversary to them.

With no other business we closed with our motto “IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME.”
