Morning services at Rockville United Methodist Church was by Pastor Larry Sorrells entitled “A New Heart and New Clothes” from Colossians 3:1-15; you are always welcome to join us at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning for worship.

Mt. Zion Home Bible study was held in the Tom and Beverly Pelkey home at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening to study the Bible, there were 13 in attendance. You are welcome to join us.

The Mt. Zion area didn’t receive rain as some of the neighbors did. The grass is still green, the wild flowers are still pretty along the roadside; lots of humming birds but they will be leaving soon. The surprise lilies are blooming.

Tom Pelkey has had a good harvest of potatoes from his container garden and Beverly busy cleaning house.

Mt. Zion Club ladies met July 31, at the Countryside Estates in Appleton City to celebrate Club Member, Kathleen Weant Dyer’s 92nd birthday; a wonderful meal was served by the RCF staff to Charlene Crayton, Donna Harris, Coralee Miller, Ginger, Julia Snethen Beverly Pelkey, Marge Zink, Mary Wood and Wilma Williams. Kathleen received a bouquet of flowers and lap robes for each of her roommates, we wish her many more birthdays.

Visitors in the Howard and Dixie Peterson have been Kent and Tucker Crawford.

Charlene and Donnie Crayton have been busy canning green beans from the garden.

Over at the Robin Siegismund farm, the road is open. The water is down but left a mess; the water got over the road at Easter. Belle was happy when Robin told her the guineas were almost ready to go to grandma Mabel’s until Robin finished the sentence there was more guineas hatching Belle hopes they can go to when they get unmanageable she likes chickens better.

The Rockville hand Quilters are happy they finished the big quilt; they have been busy with two different ones in the frames. We invite you to join us from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday  at the fellowship hall at the Rockville United Methodist Church to quilt or just a visit.

Julia Snethen returned home Sunday afternoon after babysitting four different dogs for Shella and David Vandivier so they could go on their annual float trip. Julia hasn’t gone along for several years.
