Sunday morning message at the Rockville United Methodist Church by Pastor Nick Van Dam was “The Mantle.” The ladies treated the men to a bountiful delicious breakfast before church for Father’s Day.

Mt. Zion Home Bible study met Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Tom and Beverly Pelkey home with nine in attendance to study the Bible.

Our sympathy and prayers to the families of Judy Crenshaw and John Harris who died this past week.

Sure has been hot in the Mt. Zion area this past week: but the crops are growing and the field corn has tasseled. Marge has been enjoying fresh garden produce on her “door knob garden.”  Things are good in the Mt Zion area.

Dixie Peterson celebrated her birthday last week.  Recent visitors in the Peterson home have been Stacy Griffith and Brenda Peterson.

Over  at the Robin Siegismund Farm baby chickens are hatching. Belle spent three days barking at the skin of the “seasonal mouser” who shed his skin in the shed.

Tom and Beverly Pelkey celebrated Father’s Day in Springfield with son, Gregg Pelkey. They attended the play at the Springfield Little Theater that daughter-in-law, Misha Pelkey, was performing in, then enjoyed dinner before returning home.
