Mt. Zion Home Bible study meets in the Tom and Beverly Pelkey home at 7 p.m. each Tuesday to study the Bible, all are welcome. Call Tom for more information at 660-598-0477.

Mt. Zion Club met July 19, for an afternoon meeting in the home of Marge Zink.

The Mt. Zion area missed out on the rain this past week.

Several from the area attended the VFW Post #11242 and Ladies Auxiliary meeting held in Appleton City at the Christian Church; we invite veterans to join us at 7:30 p.m. first Thursday of the month 6:30 p.m. for supper.

Recent visitors in the Howard and Dixie Peterson home were Athene and family from South Carolina, Jeri Lyn and family from Lowry City. The families visited Marge Zink and Stacy Griffith.

Helen Wyrich and Tyson enjoyed visiting in the Tom and Beverly Pelkey home Friday.

Marge Zink, Beverly and Tom Pelkey got real adventurous on Wednesday on their weekly outing; they made it to El Dorado Spring to a nice café and shopping.

So far the critters have not eaten the wiring on the vehicles at the Pelkey’s but the ground hogs are enjoying fresh vegetables from the garden.

Marge Zink and Stacy made pickles and relish from Marge’s door knob garden.

John and Julia Snethen made blackberry jam and several weeks ago they made strawberry jam. Julia and son, Ron Thompson, visited her brother, Junior Hood, who has cancer. John went to the races in Wheatland.
