Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, says she will be closed on Oct. 31, for the community dinner for the senior citizens in the community. It will be held at the Schell City Community building at noon. Madalyn says she may have another steak dinner in October. She says that if she has one she will put it in my news next week.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, Oct. 6. I could not get a hold of Brother Mike Dunivan so I do not know what his sermon was or where it was taken from.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman and a friend, Mary Tomblison, had dinner at Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City for Jewell’s 93rd birthday which was Wednesday, Oct. 2, but they celebrated it a day early because Madalyn is closed every Wednesday.

Helen Ellerman surprised her mother, Jewell Ellerman, Wednesday, Oct. 2, with cake and ice cream after church at the Grace United Methodist Church, where Jewell and Helen are members. Several stayed after church and helped Jewell celebrate her 93rd birthday, which was the 2nd.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman attended funeral services for Jewell’s nephew, Jerry Reedy, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada Saturday morning, Oct. 5. He was the son of Jewell’s brother, the late Tom Reedy Sr., and Tom’s wife and Jerry’s mother, the late Frances Reedy. The Reedy family grew up in the Harwood area.
