I need to make a correction from last week’s news. I  should have read that Madalyn’s Kitchen, not the Schell City Betterment, was having the 4th of July celebration in the Schell City Park. The hamburgers and hot dogs will be furnished. Everyone attending is to bring a side dish and their lawn chairs. There will be fireworks after dark.

Jewel and Helen Ellerman and a friend, Rosie Taylor, had dinner at the El Dorado Springs Senior Center Sunday, June 11. It was their monthly fundraiser which is usually the third Sunday of each month, but they had it a week early. Helen was celebrating her birthday which was that day.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, June 11. Brother Jon Caudle Sr.’s sermon, “God, Hope and Love” was taken from Philemon 1:2-5.

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will be open until 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17. She will serve breakfast only. She will be closed on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 18. She will reopen on Monday, June 19 at her regular times. She will be closed on July 4.

The farmers in the Harwood and Schell City areas are trying to get their beans planted and their wheat combined before they have rain again.
