News from Harwood and Schell City

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will hold her Christmas buffet dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21. She will close soon after 2 pm. on that day. Madalyn will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 23 through Christmas day, Dec. 25. She will reopen at her regular time on Tuesday, Dec. 26.

Lena Blosser (Reynolds) Brown, who grew up in the Harwood area, passed away a few months ago. There will be a memorial service for her on Sunday, Jan. 7, in the Elks basement at Nevada.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, Dec. 17. Brother Jon Caudle Sr.’s sermon, “Spreading Good News” was taken from Acts 16:27-34 and Acts 10:34-43. Gil Baker, who is with Bideon, gave a talk on what they do. Bill Clevenger will be the guest speaker on Sunday, Dec. 24, as Pastor Caudle Sr. will be unable to be there.

The Harwood-Schell City area had a pretty good rain early Sunday morning, Dec. 17. The rain was much needed.
