News from Harwood and Schell City

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, held a greakfast fundraiser for the family of Grant Davis who had Stage 4 lung cancer. Madalyn says she wanted to thank everyone who came to the breakfast and made a donation. She says she will put more in my news next week. The breakfast was held Saturday, Nov. 3.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, Nov. 4 Brother Mike Dunivan’s sermon was taken from Romans 13:1-7.

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will be open for Veteran’s Day Nov. 11, and Monday, Nov. 12. She will have her Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be a buffet like her Sunday buffet.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman and friend, Rosie Taylor, attended the Community dinner at the Schell City Community Building Wednesday, Oct. 31. It was for the Senior citizens in the area. They had a good meal and they played bingo. The grade School kids from the Northeast Vernon County from Schell City went through in their costumes and were given treats.

The area received some much needed rain this past week and it turned colder.
