News from Harwood and Schell City

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will close at 10 a.m. Dec. 14, as she is catering the food for the Duke Mason Band at Camp Galilee in El Dorado Springs. She will close at 2 p.m. on Dec. 18, so she can go to her grandchildren’s Christmas program at the Northeast Vernon County Elementary School in Schell City. She will then have her Christmas buffet on Dec. 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman went to the El Dorado Springs Senior Center for the Friend Chicken Friday on Friday, Dec. 7. They have it the first Friday of each month.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, Dec. 9. Brother Mike Dunivan’s sermon “When God Seems Far Away” was taken from Habakkuk 1:1-14.

Rosie Taylor, a friend of Jewell and Helen Ellerman, was a dinner guest in their home Sunday, Dec. 9.

The Harwood and Schell City areas were lucky that they canceled the rain and snow and stuff that they were supposed to get over the weekend.
