Jewell and Helen Ellerman attended Fried Chicken Friday, March 1, at the El Dorado Springs Senior Center. It is held the first Friday of every month.

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will be closed on Saturday, March 21, for her birthday early as her birthday is March 22. He family is taking her somewhere but she does not know where. She will be closed on Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31. She will reopen on April 1, at the regular time. She is closed every Wednesday.

There was no church at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, March 3, because of the weather.

The Harwood Post Office is open Monday thru Saturday from 1:15-3:15 p.m. so people can get their stamps, mail, mail packages etc. The lobby is open 24 hours a day so people can get their mail.

Jewell Ellerman received word Thursday, February 28, that her brother-in-law, Roy Hart, of Paul, ID, has passed away. He was married to Jewell’s sister, the late Sarah (Reedy) Hart. Roy grew up around Dedrick and then when Roy and Sarah got married, they lived around Walker then they lived up around Lowry City before they moved to Paul, ID. Before Roy got to where he couldn’t do it any more, he would come around Harwood, Walker and El Dorado and other places. He would come from Idaho selling fruits, potatoes, onions etc., several times a year.

The area had another bad weekend March 3 and 4, causing churches in the area having to close on Sunday. The area probably got around two or three inches of snow. I do not think there was any ice with it. It was really cold on Monday, March 4. It was around 10. It had been to cold fro the older people to get out. Everyone says they would be glad when spring comes.

Church services were held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, March 10. Brother Mike Dunivan’s sermon was “Romans Road to Salvation” taken from Romans 3:23, 6:23 and 10: 9, 10 and 13.

The weather had been a litter bit better this week. The area had been a bit warmer and had some rain. Maybe spring will soon be here.
