News from Harwood and Schell City

Bob and Cheryl Ellerman, of Edwards, visited in the home of Jewell and Helen Ellerman. They all went to Brush Creek Cemetery near Blackjack, Mount Vernon Cemetery near Walker and the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery to decorate the graves of loved ones. They all had dinner at Pappy’s Restaurant in El Dorado Springs.

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will be closed for Father’s Day on Sunday, June 16. She will be closed on Saturday, June 29, for the Community Fourth of July celebration. It will be held at the Park at Schell City starting at 5:30. The meat and drinks will be furnished. Everyone is to bring a side dish and their lawn chairs. There will be fireworks.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, May 26. Their pastor, Brother Mike Dunivan, was gone so Brother Jon Caudle had the sermon taken from Ephesians.

Jon and Judith Caudle Sr. celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and Jon Caudle Sr’s 80 birthday on Saturday afternoon, May 25, at the Harwood Baptist Church put on by their children, Jeff and Jon Jr. and Karen. There was several there.

The Harwood and Schell City area had really had the rain and a lot of bad storms in the area. There had been a tornado warning in the area several different days.

The Harwood Post Office is open Monday thru Saturday from 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. so people can get stamps, their mail and mail packages. The lobby is open 24 hours a day so people can get their mail out of their box.
