News from Harwood and Schell City

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will be closed on Sunday, June 16, for Father’s Day. She will have her steak, shrimp and fried chicken dinner on Sunday, June 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The price will depend on what kind of meat you take. She will mot have her buffet that day. She will be closed on Saturday, June 29, for the community Fourth of July celebration. It will start at 5:30 in the Schell City Park. The meat and drinks will be furnished. Everyone attending is to bring a dish and your lawn chairs. There will be fireworks at dark.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman attended the Fried Chicken Friday at the El Dorado Springs Senior Center Friday, June 7. It is held the first Friday of every month. The meal was really good.

The Harwood Post Office is open Monday through Saturday from 1:15 to 3:15 so people can buy stamps, mail packages, etc. The lobby is open 24 hours so people can get their mail out of their box.

The weather has been a lot better this past week. There has not been very much rain and storms. Some farmers are beginning to get in the fields and people are beginning to get in the gardens.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, June 9. Brother Mike Dunivan’s sermon was taken from Mark 10:17-22. The church had a movie Sunday evening, America Gospel.” They say it was a good movie.
