Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will close at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, so she can attend her grandchildren’s Christmas program at the Northeast Vernon School at Schell City. She will have her Christmas dinner buffet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 21, then, she will be closed for the rest of the day. She will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Dec. 25, for the Christmas holiday.

Bob and Cheryl Ellerman, of Edwards, and Mike, Kelly, Hannah and Josh Ellerman, of Carl Junction, spent Saturday, Dec. 9, in the home of Jewell and Helen Ellerman. They all had dinner at Smith’s Restaurant at Collins. They had an early Christmas.

There was a fire at Harwood around 2 a.m. Sunday morning, Dec. 10. There were two trailer homes setting together and they both burned. The place where they sat was known as the old brush place.

Madalyn Crocker, who owns Madalyn’s Kitchen south of Schell City, served the meal for the Duke Mason show at the Leeper Building at El Dorado Springs Friday, Dec. 8. She said she served 150 people and she said it was a really good show. She said the money they cleared went to the Wayside Inn Museum at El Dorado Springs.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, Dec. 10. Brother Jon Caudle Sr.’s sermon “God Sent Messiah” was taken from 2 Corinthians 1:3-5, 1 Timothy 3:14-16 and Galatians 4:4-17.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman attended the fundraiser at the Senior Center at El Dorado Springs Sunday, Dec. 10. The money is used for Meals on Wheels.
