I am sorry we have not been able to get our news out./ Our secretary who sends the news had a family emergency; but hopefully everything has straightened out and we will do a little catch up.

News for week of 14th

Morning message at the Rockville United Methodist Church Sunday by Pastor Nick Van Dam was titled “What do Christians do” from Luke 21: 5-19.

Mt. Zion Home Bible study held in the home of Tom and Beverly Pelkey had eight in attendance; you are welcome to join us each Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Mt. Zion area had a beautiful fall day for deer hunting, the frost hasn’t got all the flowers yet, can’t say I’m sorry the rag weed is gone.

Visitors in the Howard and Dixie Peterson home have been Kent, Mitchel and Mark Crawford, Mike and Stacy Griffith. Howard was honored at the VFW Post #11424 Auxiliary Turkey dinner Saturday Nov. 12, along with Tom Pelkey and Josh Salmon of the neighborhood.

The Hunters Lunch at the Taberville Volunteer Fire Department was well attended, all the food delicious. The winners of the drawing were Route 66 quilt-Martha Graver, Winter Wonderland Quilt-Traci Borders, Log Cabin Quilt-Nina Giltin and the 50/50 raffle-Amanda Evans. The community thanks everyone for their support in helping preserve the old school.

News for week of 21st

Morning message at the Rockville United Methodist Church Sunday by Pastor Nick Van Dam was titled “Hopeful Expectation” from Isaiah 2:1-5. The first Advent Candle was lit today by the Kurt Davis Family; join us each Sunday at 9 a.m. for worship.

Mt. Zion Home Bible study held in the home of Tom and Beverly Pelkey had nine in attendance; you are welcome to join us each Tuesday at 7 pm.

Mt. Zion Club will meet Dec. 21 with Marge Zink, call for information, 660-598-4240.

Dinner guest in the Tom and Beverly Pelkey home for Thanksgiving were Gregg and Misha Pelkey and girls from Springfield.

Recent visitors in the Howard and Dixie Peterson home have been Mitchell, Tucker and Kent Crawford and Beth, Stacy and Mike Griffith. Howard is entertaining the shingles but doing ok now Marge Zink enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner in Opelika, AL, in the home of granddaughter, Stephanie. Other guest were Melissa and Calab from Atlanta, GA. Mike and Stacy Griffith from Blairstown.

The Community was saddened to learn of the passing of Charles Gusewelle, our sympathy to the family. Mr. Gusewelle loved our area. Coralee Miller, Charles Wilson, Nancy Nelson and Kurt Motley attended funeral service from the neighborhood.

Margie Siegismund was among the bus tour group that spent a few days in Branson shopping and taking in the shows.

Wanda Rector enjoyed several days in Branson with family taking in shows and shopping.

Over at the Robin Siegismund farm the nanny goat girls have returned to spend the winter, Belle is happy to have more work.

John and Julia Snethen and Ron Thompson spent Thanksgiving with Julia’s twin sister, Jane Sanders, and her family in Clinton. Julia had the Snethen Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday those attending were Cody Wright, Ron Thompson and Brittany, Michael, Grace, Kayla and Logan Snethen.
