We are starting to see more legislation move through the process. This includes Senate Bills 4, 42 & 89, which has been passed by the Missouri Senate and sent to the

Missouri FCCLA Job Shadow Day at the Capitol – Charity Middleton, FCCLA State President 2022-2023 (Vernon Co).

Missouri House of Representatives for similar consideration. This measure would modify provisions regarding transparency in public schools and create the Parents’ Bill of Rights Act of 2023.
Missouri senators have also given first-round approval to three of my bills. Senate Bill 13 would modify provisions relating to financial institutions; Senate Bill 101 would enact provisions relating to lender-placed insurance; and Senate Bill 103 would modify provisions relating to court operations, including court automation, compensation for court reporters and court surcharges for expungement petitions.
Another three of my proposals have been heard in committee. Senate Bill 181 was heard by the Missouri Senate Insurance and Banking Committee. This measure seeks to privatize the Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance Company. The Missouri Senate Local Government and Elections Committee heardSenate Bill 102, which would require initiative petition circulators to be registered Missouri voters. Senate Joint Resolution 10 was also heard by Local Government and Elections. This resolution would, upon a vote of the people, modify the initiative petition process.
I am thankful to my colleagues for pushing through on these important bills, and I hope they are successful and ultimately become law.
