Trustees of the Missouri Farm Bureau Endorsement Committee representing the State Senate’s 28th District have endorsed State Rep. Sandy Crawford (R) for State Senate. The trustees met during the organization’s PAC meetings Feb. 27 in Jefferson City. Crawford, of Buffalo, currently represents the 129th District in the House and is running for the unexpired senate seat vacated by Mike Parson, who was elected lieutenant governor. The 28th Senate District includes eight counties in central southwest Missouri.

There is no primary in this election, with both the Republican and Democratic candidates being decided by senatorial committees in each party. Crawford will run against Democrat Albert Skalicky of Bolivar in the Aug. 8 special election.

Crawford is a member of three House committees this legislative session. She chairs the Financial Institutions Committee and is a member of the Pension Committee for government workers and the Administration and Accounts Committee. She was elected to the House in 2010. Prior to running for office she worked in banking for 30 years.

“Sandy has a proven track record and holds many of the same conservative values important to the 28th district and Farm Bureau. We look forward to working with her during her campaign and in the State Senate,” said Gary Noakes, Missouri Farm Bureau PAC trustee.

PAC trustees on Regional Endorsement Committees are selected by their county Farm Bureau organizations. The trustees interview candidates running in the general election, review voting records and seek their positions on issues.
