The Republicans maintain their supermajority as the 99th General Assembly starts today. With Republican Gov.-elect Eric Greitens taking over for Democrat Jay Nixon, the threat of a veto is greatly diminished. This means issues where Republicans aren’t entirely unified, such as right to work, can pass with a simple majority and no need to override a veto.
