The United States House of Representatives passed Representative Long’s MEDIA Diversity Act.

“I am thrilled to have led this effort to get this important piece of bipartisan legislation through the House of Representatives,” said Congressman Long. “There are simply too many barriers to entry into media for those who are socially disadvantaged. This is an important first step in ensuring the communications marketplace is a fair and diverse space.”

The Measuring the Economics Driving Investments and Access for (MEDIA) Diversity Act of 2021 will require the Federal Communications Commission, when assessing the state of competition in the communications marketplace, to consider market entry barriers for socially disadvantaged individuals.
