Sandy Crawford Capitol report

As is tradition in the Missouri Senate, a new General Assembly means new committees and new committee assignments. I will be chairing the Missouri Senate Insurance and Banking Committee, and returning to the Local Government and Elections Committee, this time as the vice-chair. In addition, I have been chosen to serve on the Agriculture, Food Production and Outdoor Resources; Appropriations; and Governmental Accountability committees. Committees could start meeting to discuss legislation as soon as next week.

It was also a pleasure to welcome family and friends to the Capitol to kick off the 2023 legislative session on Jan. 4, so we could take part in the Grand March and Legislative Ball. This is a great way to meet new lawmakers and reconnect with old friends as we begin another year of hard work in Jefferson City.
