Sip, sample festive fare on the scenic Hermann Wine Trail

The Holiday Fare Wine Trail, November 18-19, 2023, at seven Hermann-area wineries, ushers in the holiday season with a celebration of food and wine, shared with friends and family. The annual event is sponsored by the Hermann Vintners Association.
Wine Trail visitors will have an opportunity to sip and sample food and wine pairings on a route that meanders for 30 scenic miles along the Missouri River between Hermann and New Haven.
“After the hard work of harvest, everyone’s ready for a Wine Country celebration,” says Patty Held, president of the Hermann Wine Trail. “Some wineries serve traditional family recipes. Others invent new dishes just for the occasion.”
The 2023 Holiday Fare tasting menu will feature:
• Adam Puchta Winery — Caramel Apple Crostata, paired with warm Mull It Over
• Bias Winery — Holiday Spice Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting, paired with warm Holiday Spiced Wine
• Curling Vine Winery — Classic Lemon Bars, paired with Twisted Sangria
• G. Husmann Wine Company — Turkey Meatballs in Creamy Gravy, paired with General Fremont
• Hermannhof Winery — Italian Sausage Cranberry Stuffing Muffins, paired with Chambourcin
• Reserve Cellars — Cranberry Pistachio Shortbread, paired with Weinberg Julius Ruediger Reserve
• Röbller Vineyard — Loaded Corn Casserole, paired with Vidal Blanc
Holiday Fare is one of six annual events hosted by Hermann-area vintners. Next up is the Say Cheese Wine Trail December 9, the same weekend as a popular Hermann Christmas market. The 2024 Wine Trail calendar opens with Chocolate Wine Trail, February 24-25, a popular Valentine’s getaway. On April 6, the Farmers’ Table Wine Trail will showcase Missouri products. Bacon will be the star of the show at the Wild Bacon Wine Trail, May 4-5. Berries & BarBQ Wine Trail, July 27-28, will celebrate the flavors of summer.
The $35 per person ticket price includes a souvenir wine glass. Participants also may enter a drawing for a $30 gift certificate from each winery and a one-night stay at a Hermann B&B. The ticket price does not include transportation to wineries or additional wine tasting.
