Bill Koons, BC-HIS at ABK Hearing Center, has retired and sold his practice to Richard and Michelle (Detwiler) Leroux (La-roo) with Experience Hearing Center, LLC. Both Richard and Michelle grew up in El Dorado Springs and are happy to be home again where they’ll raise their 11 year-old son.

“We’re excited to be back, close to family after years of being away,” said Richard. “It’s an incredible opportunity to serve the hearing needs of our family, friends and neighbors, and we’re excited to be able to do it.”

The decision to retire was not one made lightly by Koons. “My wife is very ill and I want to be by her side,” explained Koons. “I wanted to make sure my patients were in good hands when I stepped away. When I met Richard and Michelle, I knew they’d be the right candidates to serve the community.”

Richard Leroux is a board certified hearing instrument specialist and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology. He has worked with patients in the Springfield, Jefferson City and Kirksville area. Before studying to become a hearing specialist, Richard served as a police officer in communities in Stone and Taney Counties.

Michelle Leroux manages the hearing center. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Media from Missouri State University and experience in journalism and healthcare public relations.

The main location of Experience Hearing Center, LLC is currently at 1505 W. Austin Blvd, Nevada, with future part-time locations in neighboring communities as the clinic grows.
