Former Cedar County Jail employee arrested

John Mygan Jr. was arrested Oct. 10 by a Cedar County deputy one day after he was fired from his employment at the Cedar County jail, where he had worked for about 10 months.

Cedar County Sheriff James McCrary told the Sun Monday that Mygan is being held in the Vernon County Jail under a $100,000 cash only bond.

According to CaseNet, Mygan is charged with statutory Sodomy – 1st degree  – deviant sexual intercourse with a person less than 14 and with Child Molestation – 1st degree. CaseNet reports that the date of the alleged crimes was Jan. 15, 2015.
