Have you heard about Clean Missouri?  What they are talking about is Constitutional Amendment No.1. The first section of that amendment reads, ”change process and criteria for redrawing state legislative districts during reapportionment.”

Currently, the state’s legislative districts are reapportioned every 10 years at census time because of shifts in the population population. An area that is populated has more representatives than one that doesn’t. Currently a bi-partisan group of legislators agrees to the boundaries. Amendment 1 leaves it up to the state auditor.

The thought is that the design of the amendment will chop up rural Missouri’s influence in state politics.

Please vote no on Amendment No. 1.
