A group of 45 teens and 10 adults are riding bicycles from Los Angeles, CA, to Bloomington, IN, a distance of 2,000 miles. The deCycles group will pedal through  four mountain passes, reservations and pass near the Grand Canyon. This is a co-ed group that plans to average 100 miles per day and on one day, coming down mountain passes, hope to achieve 243 miles.

This is an interfaith group that pushes everyone to look inside for God’s power to make the trip. They ride in groups of six with God as the seventh rider. They never leave the slowest rider behind.

The deCycle group will arrive in El Dorado Springs on Tuesday evening, July 11. Hungry, sweaty and weary, these riders minister to each other and those they find along the way, inspiring others to “never give up, no matter how difficult the challenge.” They will arrive at First Christian Church, 300 S. Main, where the entire group will be fed a meal, share some stories and conversation before bed time at the church.

After breakfast on Wednesday morning, they will pedal out of town for  the next leg of their journey. They walk the walk of Jesus and rejoice in the love of God.

The public is invited to the July 11, 7 p.m. service in the Church fellowship to hear their stories and ask questions. For more information, call the First Christian Church at 417-876-3526.
