Stockton area residents are invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and open house for the new 90-bed Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility (LSHCF) on Saturday, Jan. 26.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will start at 1:30 p.m. with the open house following until 4 p.m. Guests will be able to tour the facility, talk with staff, and enjoy refreshments and giveaways. Also, Citizens Memorial Human Resources staff will be on site to provide hiring information.

“We are extremely excited about this new facility,” says Donald J. Babb, Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director of Citizens Memorial Hospital/Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation. “The building design is a new concept in senior living called person-centered care.”

The 50,292 square foot facility replaces the previous facility built in 1975 on Owen Mill Road in Stockton. The project cost $8.5 million and was built by Larry Snyder & Co., Ozark. The architect was Larry D. Nelson, Springfield. Funding for the project was provided through a loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The new building is located at 1523 S. Third St., Stockton, and was built on 11.2 acres as part of CMH Stockton Medical Plaza, which also includes Stockton Family Medical Center, Stockton Rehabilitation Clinic and Stockton Home Medical Equipment.

LSHCF is a Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation long-term care facility. For more information about LSHCF, call 417-276-5126, and for more information about the ribbon cutting and open house event, call 417-328-7245.
