A “Fruit Tree Grafting Workshop” is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, April 16, in the Jasper County Annex Building, 105 Lincoln Street (corner of Central and Lincoln) in Carthage.

Attendees will work one-on-one with a University of Missouri Extension specialist while learning to graft.

Proper “whip and tongue” grafting technique will be demonstrated. M7 semi-standard apple rootstock will be available. Apple scion wood of Red Delicious, Ozark Gold, Gala, Arkansas Black, Enterprise and Gold Rush will be available.

Each participant will take home two grafted trees.
