The University of Missouri Extension in Cass County is offering a one-time virtual parenting workshop “All About Discipline” Sept. 19, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. via Zoom. This class can count for clock hours for foster families.
This class combines research-based information from multiple curriculum and compiles it to focus on one important parenting element: discipline. As a result of this class individuals raising children of all ages and abilities, will learn strategies that teach rather than punish children. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the “why” behind children’s behaviors, thus increasing our empathy, and concrete ways to manage those behaviors.
There is a $40 fee for the class. Organizations that would like to sponsor parents to attend can contact the facilitator, Kyleigh Sullivan, at 660-619-1355. Registration can be completed online at extension2.missouri.edu and searching All About Discipline. After registering participants will receive a link to the Zoom meeting. For accommodations and general inquiries please contact the facilitator at 660-619-1355.
