University of Missouri Extension will be doing a workshop titled Alfalfa 101: Establishing a stand, starting production, harvesting, feeding and economics on the afternoon of July 24.  Workshop will begin at 4:00 p. m. and be held at the University of Missouri Extension Center of Barton County, 801 East 12th Street, Lamar, Mo. 64759.

Speakers and topics covered include:

• Pat Miller, MU Extension Regional Agronomy Specialist, Nevada, Mo. – Alfalfa Stand Establishment, Starting Production, and Harvesting

• Patrick Davis, MU Extension Regional Livestock Specialist, Stockton, Mo. – Feeding alfalfa to cattle    

• Wesley Tucker, MU Extension Regional Agriculture Business Specialist, Bolivar, Mo. – Economics of growing alfalfa
