The Heartland Beekeeping Association of Southeast Kansas meets at 6:30 p.m., first Thursday of the month at Pittsburg State University in Yates Hall. Anyone with an interest in nature or beekeeping is welcome to attend.

HBASEK began in June of 2014, by Linda Russell and Ann Meats, both of Pittsburg, to promote healthy hives and honey production in Southeast Kansas. Their monthly meetings offer anyone interested in bees and their interaction with our community a chance to learn more through guest lectures, videos and demos on topics related to the beekeeping and hands-on learning in a local apiary. These meetings are open to people of all ages, from students, 4-H members, gardeners, hobbyists and professional beekeepers.
