University Extension will host Alfalfa Workshop101: Establishing a stand, starting production, harvesting, feeding and economics that will be hosted by University of Missouri Extension of Barton County on July 24 at the Extension Center in Lamar (801 East 12th Street, Lamar Mo. 64759) from 4 p. m. to 8:30 p. m.

The topics and presenters for the workshop include:

• Pat Miller, MU Extension Regional Agronomy Specialist, Nevada – Alfalfa Stand Establishment, Starting Production, and Harvesting

• Patrick Davis, MU Extension Regional Livestock Specialist, Stockton – Feeding alfalfa to cattle   

• Wesley Tucker, MU Extension Regional Agriculture Business Specialist, Bolivar – Economics of growing alfalfa

Cost of the workshop is $30 per person and registration along with fee payment needs to be done by July 23rd to the University of Missouri Extension Center of Barton County (801 East 12th Street, Lamar, Mo. 64759).  Fee includes meal and handouts.
