Prescribed burn workshop in El Dorado Springs

Would you like to learn how to burn your grassland or other wild lands? Would you like assistance planning a safe prescribed burn? If you do, this workshop’s for you.

The Missouri Department of Conservation, St. Clair County Soil and Water Conservation District, and Quail Forever is holding a free Prescribed Burn Workshop at the Circle S Feed Company in El Dorado Springs from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19. Learn how to burn your grassland and receive assistance in planning a prescribed burn. Topics include smoke management, benefits to grasslands, personnel and equipment, effects of weather, timing of burn and follow-up evaluation.

A free lunch will be provided and weather permitting, a demonstration burn will be conducted after lunch from 1–3 p.m. To RSVP and for more information and directions, call 660-885-6981.
