Bates, St. Clair and Henry Counties – Drivers can expect one-lane traffic and occasional traffic delays when a project to resurface and add two-foot shoulders to a 25-mile stretch of Missouri Route 52 begins the week of Aug. 1, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Contractor crews will resurface Hwy. 52 between Bates County Route BB west of Appleton City and Missouri Hwy. 13 near Deepwater.

Drivers can expect flaggers on the road directing them through the work zone. Crews will use pilot cars to guide drivers through work zone. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone or entering the work zone from a side road.

All lanes of traffic will be open during nighttime hours. Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the work zone.
