Oct. 6, 2019, was a fall day with rain, but it didn’t bother the gathering at Riverview Bible Church for the Riverview Community reunion. We were low on attendance, but we had an abundance of food brought by the good cooks in our area. A good time was had by all. Mike Norval offered the prayer before the meal. Pictures were taken after the meal.

A gathering inside for a short meeting was called to order by M.C. Sheila VonGyso with the singing of “America the Beautiful,” Joe Norval read the minutes of last year’s program. We all bowed in silent prayer for our friends and loved one who have passed on since last years. They are – Roy Lee Allen, Dean Coleman, John Norval, Bennie Coleman, Roger Culbertson, Charles Ward, Terry Simmons, Charles A. Frances, Joann Mic, Joann Wait Pope and Leila Wilson Pankey. They will be greatly missed.

Officers were elected for next year, it was voted to stay the same, with Lori and Mike Norval and Sheila helping them.

Gifts were given for: Who has been to the reunion the most years – Wanda Decker; most respected person – Doris Norval; Oldest – Wanda Decker; Youngest – Donna McCombs; most children – Ida Ruth Tucker; married the longest – Joe and Doris Norval; traveled the farthest – Gene and Joetta Culbertson, with a thank you gift for Mike and Lori Norval and Doris Norval.

Our entertainment this year was the Greathouse Singers, Ida Ruth Tucker, Mary Lillian Sissick, JV Greathouse and Brenda Dilly. They sang “How Great Thou Art,” “Since I Have Been Redeemed,” “Grace, Greater Than Our Sins,” “Lord of Lords,” “Old Shep,” “I Know A Man Who Can,” “Are You Washed in the Blood?,” “I’ve Got That Old Time Religion,” “Railway to Heaven,” “Jesus Holds My Hand and “An Old, Old Story.” Everyone enjoyed the day.
