Roy and Marvelene Dennis celebrate 72 years

Roy Dennis and Marvelene Brown were married on July 8, 1950, in Eureka Springs, AR. Neither owned a car at the time, so they borrowed Roy’s parents’ 1949 Plymouth to make the trip to Arkansas. Since Roy was not yet 21, his mother sent along a letter granting permission for the marriage.
Roy and Marvelene have lived in ElDorado Springs throughout their married lives, where they raised their two sons, Denny and Danny. Roy retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1985 and Marvelene from Sac Osage Electric Cooperative in 1987. Some of the activities they have enjoyed together during their many years of marriage are traveling, playing golf, wintering in Florida, supporting EHS and MSU athletics and spending time with family.
