School Board to meet July 9

The El Dorado Springs R-II School Board is scheduled to meet in open session at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 8, in the High School Library according to the agenda released by the  new superintendent, Heath Oates.

This will also be the first regular meeting for the new school board president, Josh Floyd, and a couple of new members, Craig Carpenter and RJ Kinnett.

Old business will include a review of progress on the 20-21 Strategic Plan for Covid 19.

In new business, the board will get an update on the sewer project on the east side of Park Street that will include the Ag Building and structures adjacent to it, the bus barn and the bathrooms at the football field. The board will consider a sports uniform contract. The board will readopt its conflict of interest ordinance as it does every other year.  The board will set the tax rate hearing date for Aug. 27.

The sewer project is meant to eliminate the backup into the Ag Building when there is a huge rain.
