Sign up for Home Ownership Program offered

Do you dream of living in your own home someday? The homebuying process can be intimidating. For many people buying a home is the largest purchase they will ever make. Because it is a major decision and requires a lot of commitment, the Home Ownership Program is being offered Monday, Aug 1, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Healthy Nevada Innovation Center.

The program will cover financial preparedness, renting vs. buying, how much house you can afford to buy based on your budget, understanding your credit report, insurance, predatory lending, inspections, different types of home ownership, negotiation, mortgages, closing costs and avoiding foreclosure.

To register for the Home Ownership program, contact the Vernon County Extension Center at 100 W. Cherry, Suite 2. Nevada, ph.417-448-2560. A registration fee of $15 per person, or $15 per couple is due by Thursday, July 28.
