The St. Clair County Route V bridge over Coon Creek south of Osceola will be CLOSED for up to 134 days while contractor crews rehabilitate the bridge starting the week of March 13, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will remove and replace the bridge deck/driving surface. The project also includes adding new barrier walls, guardrail, object markers and permanent striping.
Traffic Impacts:
All lanes of St. Clair County Route V CLOSED where crews are working
Drivers will have access to entrances at either end of the bridge, but will not be able to drive through the work zone
No signed detour
Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
Drivers urged to find alternate routes to avoid work zone
Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or scheduling delays will alter the work schedule.
The Coon Creek bridge was built in 1976 and carries approximately 190 vehicles per day.
