Adella Maxine Center, 76, was born May 16, 1940, in Schell City to Ernest W Center and Jewell (Johnson) Center. She passed away on Sept. 20, 2016, in Community Springs Healthcare.    

She spent most of her younger life in Creighton, MO, and graduated from Creighton High School in 1958.

She worked at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City until 1964.

She joined the Navy and was stationed at the

U.S. Naval Receiving Station in Norfolk, VA. Maxine really enjoyed her time in the Navy. She also was a member of the Missouri National Guard.

She moved back to Missouri in 1976 and remained. There she went to work for Farm & Home Savings Association and remained there for 18 years.

She lived in Branson a few years and then moved to El Dorado Springs where she retired and remained there.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

She is survived by several cousins and two very dear friends, Lalan Cole and Sally Jones.

Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, in Fort Scott (KS) National Cemetery with a Military Chaplain officiating. The U.S. Navy will provide military honors.
