Anita Kennon-Conley, 82, was born in Hollister, CA, to Lawrence Wilbur and Blue Bell Vanover Haddock on Dec 2, 1940. She had an older brother, Larry, and a younger brother, Clyde. She met Dean Kennon and they married Nov. 27, 1965 in California. They moved to his hometown of El Dorado Springs shortly after their marriage.
Their family grew to include two daughters, Deanna and Julie. They opened Kennon Redi-Mix in El Dorado Springs and operated it together while raising their children. They then opened Kennon’s Jewelry in Nevada and enjoyed the jewelry business for the next 10 years.
Anita lost Dean at the young age of 58 and kept busy with grandchildren, golf and church activities. She was an active member of the El Dorado Springs Church of Christ and maintained many friendships there. She married John Conley Sept. 6, 2008, and they were able to continue enjoying golf, hunting, fishing, outdoor activities and their combined grandchildren.
Anita suddenly became ill and passed on Aug. 14, 2023. She leaves behind her husband, John, of the home; her daughters, Deanna (Steve) Cohick – Fort Worth, TX; Julie (Justin) Graham, Springfield; grandsons, Zach and Turner Graham, and Gavin and Collin Cohick; and brother, Clyde (Dixie) Haddock – El Dorado Springs. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dean Kennon, and her older brother, Larry Haddock.
Services were held Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. The minister was Craig Johnson.Interment was at the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery.
The family requests donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research hospital in her memory.
