Barbara Ann Penington, 70, was born Jan. 10, 1953, to Samuel Lonzo “Sam” Penington and Arleen May “Windmoeller” Penington in Jackson County, Kansas City. She passed away Saturday, Dec. 23.

Barbara married Robert Franklin Anders on Nov. 2, 1974, and to this union three children were born. Candi Sue, Robert Franklin II and Aaron Lee. Barbara and Robert went their separate ways in 2006.

Barbara moved to the state of Oregon and met Jeffrey Scott Tipton. They were united in Marriage June 17, 2006, in Oregon. The couple later moved to El Dorado Springs so that Barbara could be closer to her mom and family.

Barbara enjoyed going to garage sales, thrift stores and auctions. She loved doing genealogy research about her family and doing crafts. She loved her Pomeranian, her parakeets and her fish.

Barbara loved the Lord above all, and she loved her husband, her children, and her grandchildren very much.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Sam Penington; her sister, Linda Blair; grandson, Damien Dean Anders; and son-in-law, Ronald Douglas “Doug” Oesterling – Cameron.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Scott Tipton of the home; mother, Arleen 91; mother-in-law, Billie Tipton – Oregon; three children, daughter, Candi Sue Oesterling – Cameron, son, Robert Franklin Anders II (Tammy Priest) Bethany and son, Aaron Lee (April) Anders – Cameron; six grandchildren, Caleb and Jacob Oesterling – Cameron, Angel Anders of Catoosa, OK, Joshua Anders – Bethany, Lil Aaron (Kylie) Anders, Gallatin, and Amber Anders – Cameron; two brothers, Ernest “Ernie” Penington and Anthony “Tony” Penington; and one sister, Melanie Anderson.

Barbara was cremated under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, and a memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at El Dorado Springs Church of God (Holiness) at 1607 S. Park St.
