Ben Jacob Decker, 89, Walker, passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 at Community Springs Healthcare, El Dorado Springs. Ben was born March 31, 1932 in Halstead, KS, to Abraham B. and Helena (Dirks) Decker. He married Marlene Joyce Koehn on June 7, 1959, in Rich Hill and she survives of the home.

At the age of 6, Ben moved with his family to Parsons, KS, where he grew up.  As a young man he moved to Foster and in 1962, he and Marlene moved to a farm in rural Walker where he has resided ever since. Ben farmed his whole life. He was a member of the Living Faith Mennonite Church in Walker.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Marlene, include son, Glenn Decker, Springfield, and his daughter, Bonnie Koehn, and her husband, Ron, Walker; granddaughter, Derenda Wenger, and her husband, James, Walker; three great-grandchildren, Jerrik Wenger, Kaitlyn Wenger and Keelan Wenger; sister, Alta Langer, Mount Juliet, TN.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the Living Faith Mennonite Church, Walker.  Interment will follow in the Living Faith Mennonite Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.  Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
