Betty Jo Bledsoe, 83, was born to Ada and Joseph Samsel on June 24, 1940, on a farm north of Stockton. She enjoyed the farm life, cooking with her mother and riding the tractor with her father.

Betty Jo married Fay Lavern Bledsoe, Sept. 18, 1959. From this union were born three children: Mitchell Edward Bledsoe, Michael Wayne Bledsoe and Mark Landon Bledsoe.

Betty graduated from Stockton High School. After graduation she moved to Kansas City and worked for Hallmark Cards. Later, she worked at Hagale Shirt factory in Stockton and then the El Dorado Christian Daycare, where she loved the children.

She enjoyed quilting and made quilts for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and contributing to the local newspaper where she wrote several newspaper pieces. She touched many people’s lives with her generous and caring ways.

Betty Jo went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on July 20, 2023, at her home in El Dorado. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ada and Joseph Samsel, her husband Fay Bledsoe, and her two sons, Mitchell Bledsoe and Mark Bledsoe.  She is survived by her son Michael Wayne Bledsoe, grandchildren Amanda Farmer, Amy Bledsoe, Luke Bledsoe, Derek Irvin, and several great grandchildren.

She will be sorely missed by many friends and family.

Casket bearers were Luke Bledsoe, Phillip Jenkins, Mike Farmer, Cale Bledsoe, Clayton Bledsoe, Mike Bledsoe, Steve Schmidt and Ben Bland.

Services were Tuesday, July 25, at the Church of God – Holiness by Pastor Joe Trussell. Interment was at Stockton Cemetery, Stockton.
