Betty Lorraine (Brower) Sallee, 93, of El Dorado Springs, left this life to be with the Lord on Oct. 31, 2017. She was born July 31, 1924, to Rupert and Maggie (Budd) Brower.

On Aug. 2, 1941, she married Alden Sallee. This union was blessed with five children: Tony, Connie, Velva, Janice and Nancy. Living on the farm, Betty milked cows until she went to work at the shoe factory.

She was an amazing cook. She loved family dinners on Saturdays. It didn’t matter or bother her if there was only one or if there were forty people. Her grandkids expected and enjoyed her banana pie and hot rolls.

Betty enjoyed the outdoor life. When it came to gardening, she had a green thumb. She could grow anything, then can it and make it delicious.

She loved her fishing. If you were in the boat with her, you knew her fishing line was the first one in the water. At a young age of 80 years old, she had to give up the enjoyment of horseback riding. She truly loved the trail rides.

Her favorite word was “Go.” Betty was a wonderful and amazing all around woman.
