Beula Mae Chism, 96,  went to be with the Lord on Aug. 7, 2020.

She was born Feb. 14, 1924, in Barry County Missouri to G.C. and Eula Ulmer. She was the oldest of 4 children. Her siblings preceded her in death; Leta (Bill) Ownes, G.E. (Ruby) Ulmer and W.E. (Treva) Ulmer.

She was married June 3, 1942, to Homer Norwood in Butterfield. To this union one daughter was born, Sue Norwood Baldwin, Homer died in WWII on March 20, 1945. She married William Chism on Feb. 10, 1947, in Barryville, AR., They had two sons; Bobby Chism and David Chism.

Beula was a long-time devoted member of the Baptist Faith.

Her cooking skills were second to none and she was known for her homemade hot rolls, noodles, granny corn, banana pudding and divinity.

Beula crocheted afghans and would try any pattern if asked; her family will treasure her crocheted snowflakes for generations to come.

She had a green thumb and loved her flowers and vegetables.

She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandkids and great grandkids, She was always bragging on them and loved telling people about them.

Buela is survived by Sue (C.L.) Baldwin of St. James and, Bobby and David Chism of El Dorado Springs.. Grandchildren Kevin (Jacquelin) Baldwin, Kristi (Kevin) Griep, all of Jefferson City, Missouri. David Jr (Tera) Chism of Collins, and Dara (Aaron) Pruitt of Osborn, KS. Great Grandchildren Kellen, Kyler, and Kaitlin Griep: Sophia Baldwin; Haedyn, Ryder, Anthony, Zac, and Katherine Chism; Ky, Tucker and Maggie Pruitt. Several special nieces and nephews as well as her beloved church family.

Graveside Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Butterfield. Memorials can be made to Disabled American Veterans  (DAV) or Freewill Baptist Church in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.
