Beverly Kay Nikodim, 87, El Dorado Springs, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Beverly was born Nov, 22,1937, in Everly, IA, to Howard and Louise (Albert) Plain. She graduated in 1955, from El Dorado Springs High School. She was baptized in Spencer when she was young.

After high school, she married the love of her life, Joseph Nikodim, on March 17, 1956. They were married for 64 years, and five children were born to this union: Joe Jr, Howard, Doug, Jim and Dale.

Beverly worked at the Shoe Factory, the Shirt Factory and baked wedding cakes on the side. She loved farm animals and gardening. She, along with her boys, grew a two-acre garden to feed the family. She stayed busy, even in her 70’s when she decided to repaint the barn roof herself. She had a deep love for her grandchildren. She loved watching them and teaching them how to cook.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Louise Plain; son, Dale Eugene Nikodim; brother, Harold “Butch” Plain; sister, Gayle Louise Callaway; daughters-in-law, Brenda Nikodim and Lisa Nikodim; and close cousin, Harlan “Tub” Riggs.

Beverly is survived by her sons: Joe Nikodim Jr., Howard Nikodim, Doug and Shelly Nikodim, Jim and Jeannie Nikodim; sister, Delma Plain; nine grandchildren: Misty Russell, Kristy Nikodim, Matthew Nikodim, Mandy Nikodim, Melody Madewell, Josh Nikodim, Andrea Nikodim, Tiffany Janes, and Jamie Nikodim; several great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Services for Beverly Nikodim were held Saturday, March 1, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Brent Bland was the minister. She was laid to rest in Virgil City Cemetery.
